Reiki Treatment: Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Rei means universal and Ki means life energy. Reiki then means universal life energy. A typical session usually last an hour and during that time a Reiki practitioner places their hands in 12 to 15 positions on, or just above, various parts of the client’s clothed body. These hand positions are held from 2 to 5 minutes each. Reiki is not used to treat or diagnose illness. It is a safe, gentle and effective complementary therapy. You may experience hot or cold sensations, or simply just a feeling of relaxation. Reiki is an effective therapy for stress-relief and management, and has been utilized as complementary therapy for chemotherapy patients and pre and post surgery patients in hospitals.
This treatment can be added on to your facial or massage, or as a stand alone treatment.
$10 for add on, $20 for 30 minute treatment, $40 for 60 minute treatment.

REIKI AS COMPLIMENTARY THERAPY
At least 60 hospitals across the country now offer treatments to their patients. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Children’s Hospital of Boston, Cleveland Clinic Center for Integrative Medicine, Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, and Yale-New Haven Hospital, are among them. Clinical trails that are federally funded are currently being conducted at Cleveland Clinic and expected to be completed by August of this year. The studies will look into Reiki's effects on stress, cancer progression, post-surgical pain and urinary systems for men undergoing prostate cancer.
The United States Army unveiled a $4 million program to mend the psyches of returning veterans through Reiki and other bioenergies. The Department of Veterans Affairs uses Reiki in their Hepatitis C treatment program. Fort Bliss’ Warrior Resilience program — the same one Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey believes should be replicated throughout the military — uses it as one tool to help soldiers strengthen and recover following combat. What this says to me is that Reiki works! This healing modality helps to ease the effects of stress and to allow our bodies to facilitate there own healing.

Reiki, along with acupuncture, has been recommended by the World Health Organization to become part of medical and hospital services worldwide. When used in hospitals the Doctors and nurses have reported an increase in appetite, a decrease in the need for pain medications, improvements in patients ability to sleep, and an acceleration in the healing process.
Come and experience this healing technique for yourself.
