We are excited to introduce our new and amazing service - PEMF treatment with FIR, HOT STONE THERAPY, and RED LIGHT PHOTOTHERAPY. PEMF, which stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field, is a great service because our mitochondria function like batteries, converting energy from food nutrients to ATP. When the battery gets low, it does not function at its optimal level, leading to low energy, slower healing wounds, more susceptibility to illness, and feeling worn out. PEMF can help with this!

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields have been around since the 19th century, and the scientific research documenting the benefits of use is extensive. Scientific studies show that PEMF increases blood flow, energy, bone regeneration and healing, post-surgery healing, muscle healing and relaxation, and overall health and wellness of the body. I have personally used the mat with PEMF and have felt better with more energy, less body aches, and fatigue. Our mat has a combination of crystals, such as Amethyst, Jade, and Tourmaline, which create negative ions when heated, and RED LED and near-infrared lights that help reduce swelling, pain, inflammation, and aid in tissue and bone healing. There are many reasons to try out this new service today! Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or want to book this service today.

For those interested in learning more, we have listed a few scientific research conclusions and sources regarding the benefits of PEMF below.
We encourage you to always do your research regarding your health, and our services page on this website provides more information on the benefits. You can book this service on our online scheduler https://www.schedulicity.com/scheduling/MASSR5 as an add-on to your service for your next appointment, or you can call/text to add it to your regular facial or massage.
This is a great and easy way to "recharge" your body's batteries naturally! However, please note that there are a few contraindications to this service. It is not recommended for pregnant women, people with pacemakers, or those prone to epileptic seizures.

Here are some quotes from studies on PEMF and their sources for those interested in learning more:

"Overall, the application of PEMF was found to be effective in reducing the physiological deficits associated with DOMS [delayed onset muscle soreness], including improved recovery of perceived muscle soreness, MDF, and EMD during isometric contraction." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24906295/

"Low back pain is a worldwide prevalent musculoskeletal condition in the general population. In this sense, the pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) therapy has shown significant clinical benefits in several musculoskeletal conditions." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6806956/

"Metabolic biomarkers were the most significantly altered by our magnetic intervention. To our knowledge, this is the first study to show magnetically-induced changes in muscle bioenergetics status and membrane kinetics in humans following ACL reconstruction surgery. Magnetic field therapy may hence represent a potential treatment modality for improving muscle metabolic function following immobilizing surgery and does not interfere with positive rehabilitative physical outcomes, offering a broadened therapeutic value by combining physical and magnetic therapies. These metabolic changes are sufficiently provocative to merit subsequent follow-up in larger clinical trials examining the effects of brief (10 min) weekly PEMF exposure on systemic metabolic homeostasis." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9574347/

PEMF and The Body Electric

As a woman who recently turned 50, I have been dealing with menopause symptoms and have been studying herbs and botanicals for the past 20 years. Through my research, I have learned some interesting facts about women's health, such as the increased risk of autoimmune disease compared to men and the lack of representation in clinical trials. Today, I would like to suggest a few herbs and botanicals that have been scientifically proven to be helpful for women's unique systems. However, it is important to always speak with a doctor before beginning any herbal treatments, as they may interact with prescription medications.

The first helpful herb is Schisandra Chinensis, which is an antioxidant that helps protect the liver and improve mental function while lessening the effects of stress on the body. It has also been shown to enhance endurance and stamina and ease symptoms of depression and anxiety. However, it should be avoided during pregnancy. The suggested dosing for dried fruit is 2-6g per day, or 3-10mls per day for a liquid extract.

The second helpful herb is Ashwagandha Withania Somnifera, which is an adaptogen that regulates the cortisol cycle and affects the neuroendocrine system. It helps with sleep, weight issues, stress, thyroid health, blood sugar, fertility, and more. It can also assist with memory issues and increase hemoglobin. Dosage varies depending on the specific issue, but generally 125mg-500mg daily in capsules or 6-15ml of 1:2 fluid extract is effective.
The third helpful herb is ginger, which helps with migraines, nausea, pain from menstrual cycles, and excess bleeding. Studies have shown that taking ginger can reduce bleeding during menstrual cycles and alleviate discomfort during the first 3-4 days of a cycle. It is also effective for acute pain relief and for nausea during pregnancy, with a recommended dosage of 1000mg to 1500mg four times a day.

Finally, fenugreek is helpful for eczema, gastric ulcers, menopause symptoms, liver disease, and more. It can also boost breastmilk production in nursing mothers. For period pain, taking 900mg three times a day at the beginning of the cycle for 3 days for 2-3 months consistently can help. For hot flashes, taking 500mg after meals for 90 days has been shown to have a 47.7% reduction in symptoms.
